Final stage of the illustration.

On this final post i will show you my break down of the illustration. when deciding on what model and back ground to chose i finally decided on using the Maggie fashion illustration from Brooke Hagels work and bringing in the bags from the Fairy tales and the stars from the New Years eve illustration by Mia Overgaard's work, i then placed the illustration on top of a skyline. Im very pleased with how this Illustration has turned out. i like the clean lines from the illustrations and really enjoyed breaking down the Illustrators work, which give me more confidence in my own drawings.

My Final Illustration.

Deciding on the final designs.

On this post it shows how i started to break down my final illustration and the finishing touchs that were added before the final illustration is started.

Skyline Love..

On this post i started to look at how i could combined the two illustrators, i started of simple. i took the model from brooke Hagel and placed the bow that Mia Overgaard uses in her illustrations. I then placed the illustration in front of a simple new york skyline. i really love this illustration with out colour.

Here is an illustration that i have done where i started with drawing the girl, i then added the colour with colouring pencil and then scanned into photoshop and added the details. i used the same back ground and added more snow around the girl.

Illustrations...

Here is an illustration that i have copied from Mia's Overgaard. i started with drawing with pencil, i then went over the drawing with a fine black pen. After scanning the illustration into photoshop i then added the small bobbles with the brush tool. I like how it has turned out and i'm very pleased with it.

Final stage of the illustration.

This is my final illustration that i have done where i have used Mia Overgaard's illustration for inspiration. i started of drawing by pencil and then scanned the pencil drawing into Photoshop where i then started to add the final details. To Create the stars i used the polygonal lasso tool to create the shape of the star, filled with paint bucket tool and add texture with sponge tool and paint brush. I'm happy with how this has turned out.

My Final illustration of Mia Overgaard's New Years Eve illustration.

Mia Overgaard's Illustration done by pencil.

First Draft without colour.

This is my copy of the New Years eve illustration, using pencil and black thin pen to do the outline.
I will scan this into photoshop to finish it and to make alterations.

Before Colour.

This illstration for a New Years eve party is one of my favorites by Mia, i love how the two models are standing in two different styles. With this illstration i took each model and broke them down. Using pencil to draw them and then adding finishing touchs on Photoshop.

An idea of what Mia's style is...

This is just a small idea of what kind of style Mia Overgaard has.

Introducing you to Mia Overgaard.

A graduate of Denmark’s Designskole and several private art schools (Copenhagen), Mia has studied art, illustration and fashion design. For the past five years, her work has revolved mostly around commercial and fashion illustration. She depicts a whimsical and delicate universe which reflects her own dreamy nature.

She creates realistic yet surreal, detailed illustrations of people and animals living in a dream-like universe – happy, beautiful creatures yet at times depicted with a shadow of melancholy across their faces.
Her clients include names such as Wall Street Journal, The Telegraph, Volkswagen, Neiman Marcus, Gap, ASOS.com, Taschen, Marie Claire and CosmoGIRL!

Work...

Here is also copied some work, i really enjoy Brookes work, i love the clean lines that she uses and its also very dream like pictures. here i started of with pencil and added the colour with colouring pencil. i really enjoy working in the style of Brooke.

Influences.

These are some more drawings that i have done by using the influences of Brookes Work. I love the clean lines that she uses. Also using colouring pencil.

Some of my own work.

These two drawings i did using colouring pencil..the reason i liked the girl in denim illustration was that i loved how Brooke just coloured the denim. i then placed the Girl on top of the city picture. i really love these pictures due to the simpleness of it.

My illustration in the city.

Here is one of the illustrations of my own work using influences from Brooke Hagels illustration. This is one of my favourite illustrations that i have done, i like how the hair has turned out using colouring pencil.

Breaking down Brooke's illustrations.

This is where i have broke down the one of the styles of faces that Brooke uses for her illustrations. I have used colouring pencil, felt tip pen and markers. when using the markers for the use of the eye brows, i found that it would bleed across the page. I also marked in where the eyes, nose and mouth should be placed.
Here is where i looked at the different styles of heads, the way the hair falls and how Brooke keeps it simple with the design of the clothes.
